Understanding Trig Functions

The sine, cosine, and tangent functions work in radians by default. To convert degrees to radians: multiply by π/180. For example, 90° = π/2 ≈ 1.5708 radians.

Why doesn't sin(90) equal 1?

The calculator uses radians, not degrees. For sin of 90 degrees, enter sin(1.5708) — this gives 1.
