How the Countdown Calculator Works

This calculator measures the exact time remaining until a future date and time you choose.

How it works

The calculator subtracts the current timestamp from your target timestamp. The difference is broken down: days from the whole-day portion, hours from the remainder, and so on down to seconds.

Worked example

If it is June 25 and you set a target of July 4 at 9:00 PM, the calculator shows approximately 9 days, 4 hours, 0 minutes, 0 seconds (depending on the current time).
