How to Count Business Days

This calculator counts the working days (Monday through Friday) between two dates, excluding weekends.

Step-by-step

1. Select the start date.
2. Select the end date.
3. Click Calculate to see how many business days fall within that range.

How it works

The calculator steps through each calendar day from start to end. If the day of the week is Saturday or Sunday, it is skipped. All other days are counted.

Worked example

Monday June 2 to Friday June 13: that is 10 business days (2 full weeks, no weekends counted). If you include Saturday and Sunday, the total calendar days would be 12.

Important note

This calculator does not account for public holidays. For project planning, subtract holiday dates manually from the result. For example, if July 4 falls within your range, subtract one business day.
